The South Euclid Municipal Court Probation Department is responsible for the supervision of offenders who must meet certain requirements set by the Court .  These requirements may include community service, payment of restitution to victim(s), satisfactory completion of a drug and/or alcohol program, compliance with random drug and alcohol screenings, and various other sanctions ordered by the court.   Failure to comply with Probation mandates may result in a Probation violation and the Judge may impose or enforce any previously suspended sentence.  To reach the South Euclid Probation Department, call 216.381.2880 ext. 223 or email probation@secourt.org

Theft Diversion Program Schedule

THE SOUTH EUCLID MUNICIPAL COURT THEFT DIVERSION PROGRAM  is a specialized program aimed at first time offenders that enter the South Euclid Municipal Court System. Eligible offenders shall enter a No Contest Plea to be held in abeyance until completion of the program

Offenders will attend Life Skills and Anti-Theft classes at the South Euclid Municipal Court on three consecutive Saturdays. Upon completion of the three consecutive Saturdays of Life Skills and Anti-Theft classes, the offenders will complete a required number of hours of Community Work Service as determined by the Court. Offenders will pay a programming fee of $250.00 plus $130.00 Court costs.

Those offenders who are ordered to take Anti-Theft classes, have the option of taking online courses. The online or virtual classes are available 24 hours per day and seven days per week by clicking here. The offender is responsible for all fees associated with the online diversion classes.  Please call 216.381.2880 ext. 223 for more information about online diversion courses.

After classes are successfully completed with all associated program fees and Court costs paid in full, community service hours performed and verified, the offender will be scheduled to appear before the court to have their offense dismissed and sealed.

All Theft Deterrent & Lifeskills classes will be held in the Community Room, Located on the second floor of the Municipal Building.

Non -Violent First Offenders Program

Non -violent first offenders with no prior criminal record are eligible for consideration in the Court’s first offender program. Defendant convicted of offenses such as petty theft, child endangering, underage drinking and minor drug offenses are often placed in the Court’s first offender program and required to pay a program fee and perform community service and attend a drug and alcohol educational program

THE Cleveland Municipal Court Suburban Drug Court Program  

South Euclid Municipal Court is a member of the Cleveland Municipal Court Suburban Drug Court program.  South Euclid Court along with Cleveland Municipal Court, Euclid Municipal Court, Rocky River Municipal Court East Cleveland Municipal Court, and Shaker Heights Municipal Court comprise the Cleveland Municipal Court Suburban Court Program.  South Euclid Municipal Court refers low level drug and alcohol non-violent offenders to the Suburban Drug Court Program provided they are not involved in trafficking of controlled substances.

Offenders referred to Drug Court by the South Euclid Probation Department are assessed by Community Assessment and case managed by Recovery Resources. Offenders are given a regular Court reporting schedule to appear before

Sanctions could include jail time, fines, or treatment depending on the situation of the offender. The ultimate reward of Drug Court is sobriety and recovery.

South Euclid Court had four graduates of the six referrals from Drug Court. Once the offender completes Cleveland Drug Court which South Euclid Court views as a diversion as opposed to a sanction, the case is returned to South Euclid Court and the record is sealed. The cost of Drug Court is the defendant’s ability to pay. South Euclid Court forwards the defendant’s Court costs to assist with Drug Court fees.
